- No indication of N1 increase with normal N2 increase (<8%)>
- Case 1: If N1 indicates "0"
- >> Check EICAS for indications of EPR, EGT, and Oil Temp
- >> If these indications not present by 8% N2, probable EEC failure
- >> Discontinue start; Push Start Switch in (by recall)
- Case 2: If the above indications normal by 8% N2
- >> Check with GND crew for visual confirmation of N1
- >> If no confirmation of N1 rotation, continue start
- >> FCS to run at max motoring
- >> N1 must be indicated immediately after light up or by 40% N2 at the latest
- >> If still no N1
, abort start - >> "ABORTED ENGINE START" Checklist
- >> Maintenance action is required
- >> Coordinate GND and ATC to return to bay
- >> Complete "AFTER LANDING CHECKS" prior to parking

- No write up in MEL on N1 display. IMPLYING NO DISPATCH!!!
