- Rapid rising EGT
- Slower/Normal N2 spool up
- Higher than normal Fuel Flow (normal = approx. 0.3 after FCS to run)
- Abort start if EGT rapidly passes 300degC at approx. 40% N2
- FCS to cutoff (by recall), start Timer
- Note peak EGT
- Call for "ABORTED ENGINE START" Checklist
- Inform ATC if delay anticipated

If engine restart required:
- Select IGNITERS to Both
- When N2 0% (Reset EEC)
- Restart affected engine
- Return IGNITER to 1 or 2
- Late to select FCS to cutoff
- Not monitoring peak EGT
- Not selecting IGNITERS to both for subsequent start
- Not waiting for N2 to spool to 0%
- Not returning IGNITER to original position after a restart
