- Start Valve Open Light not on but switch latches in position
- Eng Bleed PRSOV Off light remains illuminated; Normally should be off after Start Switch is pulled
- No N2 rotation
- After short delay, EICAS msg "ENG _ START VLV"
- This occurs because start valve is commanded to open but cannot as there is no air pressure resulting from failure of Engine Bleed Valve which needs to be open. The msg is due to disagreement with the commanded position (to open) and actual position of valve (closed)
- In this case, no need to do "ENG _ START VLV" Checklist as Engine PRSOV is affected and not Engine Start Valve
- Discontinue start; (Push start switch in by recall)
- Inform GND and ATC; ATC of longer start time and GND to prepare manual start
Circuit Breaker(s):
- CBs P6-4 H32 to H35
- If out, seek Engineering advise
- MEL 36-11-1 Engine Bleed Pressure Regulating And Shutoff Valves (PRSOV)
- Follow the manual start procedures carefully and step-by-step
Common Errors:
- Interpreting indications as Engine Start Valve fail to open
- Not checking Engine Bleed PRSOV Off light status
- Not checking CBs
- Incorrect implementation of MEL procedure.
